People don’t often associate fog, darkness, “nasty” overcast and rainy weather with good photography, but this is one of my favorite times to shoot.

The dark contrast of the shadows, and the subtle color pop of the subject and surrounding color (even if it is slight), makes for exceptionally moody and cinematic photography.

I took advantage of this a couple weeks ago on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Heading south from NC80 in Marion, NC, I made a few stops to capture some images of one of my most favorite things ever… my 2005 Subaru STi.

A very early morning trip, on a foggy and rainy day, and in the off season for the Parkway left me with zero traffic to contend with, and all the opportunity for these shots. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them.
